Action Youth Care (AYC) in Spencer, WV, May 1994 to September 1998. First as a Family Service Specialist where I provided case management, supportive counseling, and crisis intervention to families in need. I was promoted to Therapist in 1996 and began to provide therapy to clients in their home as well as the office. I also worked with the Foster Care Program where I worked to place children with the most compatible foster parents, provided support to the foster parents, arranged visitation with biological parents and worked with Child Protective Services. In July 1997, I was promoted to Clinical Team Leader where I supervised a team of Family Service Specialists and Therapists in Jackson, Roane, Calhoun, Gilmer, Clay, and Braxton Counties. I continued to provide therapy to a limited number of clients under the supervision of John J. Kampsnider, Ph.D. as part of my internship for my Masters Degree. In January, 1998, I was offered a promotion to Regional Coordinator but declined as this position would have not involved direct services.
